Shaping the future of learning

Every learner in Wales deserves access to high-quality, bilingual resources that support their education and reflect their culture. That principle sits at the heart of Adnodd, a new arm’s-length body of the Welsh Government tasked with coordinating and commissioning resources for the Curriculum for Wales.

When Adnodd launched in 2022, it brought both opportunity and responsibility: the opportunity to shape a fairer, more inclusive future for education, and the chance to earn trust and build lasting relationships with teachers, publishers, learners and policymakers from the very beginning.

Creating a digital home

We designed and built a central hub where people can discover Adnodd’s role, explore its strategy and access resources that support the Curriculum for Wales. The website provides clear pathways for educators, publishers and partners to get involved – turning vision into something people can use and act on.

The site was built to Welsh Government digital standards, tested against WCAG accessibility guidelines, and delivered fully bilingually, giving equal weight to Welsh and English. Information is structured around audience needs so stakeholders can quickly find what matters most to them.

To ensure the site grows with Adnodd, we developed a flexible content management system and templates that empower the team to update and expand independently as new projects, collaborations and funding opportunities emerge.

Three website screens show the Adnodd Strategy 2025-28, featuring a colourful, educational theme with illustrations of children, books, and teachers. The layout includes navigation, text, images, and call-to-action buttons.

Building an identity with personality

We extended Adnodd’s brand across digital and print, creating a toolkit that made the identity vibrant, professional and approachable. An expanded colour palette, refined typography and clear design language gave the organisation consistency and flexibility across every touchpoint.

Illustrator Lleucu Gwenllian, working to our creative direction, created a suite of bespoke illustrations. These visuals added warmth and storytelling to Adnodd’s communications, turning strategy documents and reports into engaging, human-led narratives that reflected Wales’ diverse education community.

Alongside the visual identity, we helped refine Adnodd’s tone of voice. Communications needed to be clear, professional and bilingual, while resonating with a wide audience – from teachers and learners to publishers and policymakers. We developed guidelines and templates that give the team the tools to communicate consistently, confidently and in their own voice as the organisation grows.

Bringing the brand to life

Our collaboration helped give Adnodd a clear public presence. Communications materials carried the identity into classrooms, conferences and cultural events. At the Eisteddfod, the brand supported Adnodd to engage directly with educators and learners in a way that felt welcoming, distinctive and culturally rooted.

The 2025-28 strategy was launched with a suite of materials designed to make complex ideas engaging and accessible. Illustrations, bold colours and photography brought warmth and humanity, helping people connect with the vision and see their role within it.
