A vision for education in Wales
Adnodd is the arm’s-length body of the Welsh Government responsible for commissioning bilingual resources to support the Curriculum for Wales. Its first three-year strategy set out a bold new vision for education in Wales, with priorities focused on literacy, equity and anti-racism, and well-being.
The challenge was to help communicate this vision in a way that felt accessible and inspiring. More than words on a page, it needed to connect with educators, learners and families, and establish Adnodd as a trusted voice from day one.
Making a bold vision feel accessible and inspiring
We worked with Adnodd to communicate the strategy in ways that felt engaging, human and collaborative. We turned a policy document into a clear bilingual publication, brought warmth and inclusivity through bespoke storytelling and illustration, gave the education community a voice through film, and ensured every output was consistent with the extended Adnodd brand.
Designing with humanity and inclusion
We designed a bilingual publication that made the strategy easy to navigate and understand. Working with illustrator Lleucu Gwenllian, the design reflected the diversity of Wales’ education community – pupils, teachers, families and content creators.
The design gave the document humanity and relatability, showing that this was a strategy for the people who would use it, not just a government policy. Each of the three priorities – literacy, equity and well-being – was visually woven through the design to reinforce Adnodd’s commitment to fairness and inclusion.
Voices from Wales’ classrooms
To launch the strategy, we produced a film that told its story in a compelling, relatable way. We scripted and worked directly with teachers, pupils and Adnodd staff, whose voices explained why the strategy matters and what it means for education in Wales.
By grounding the story in lived experience rather than abstract policy, the film highlighted the collaborative nature of the strategy and reflected how Adnodd’s work is shaped by the people it serves.
From strategy to national campaign
The strategy and film launched as part of a national campaign, carrying the message that it had been shaped by practitioners, learners and partners. A bilingual design ensured accessibility for both Welsh and English speakers, while social media, newsletters and events extended its reach across schools, professional networks and communities.
