Pontypool Rugby Club wins a Webby Honoree

Pontypool RFC’s new website has won a Webby Honoree award for the Best Sport Website.

It is an amazing achievement for a small Welsh rugby club, like Pontypool RFC. Sharing centre stage with the likes of American Football’s NFL, Major League Baseball in the United States for its website.

The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring excellence on the internet. The Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Today, there are over 1million websites live and there are entries from around the world. So winning a Webby Honouree Award is pretty awesome.

We are really proud of our work with Pontypool. We recognised the need for a fan-centric approach. So we created a site tailored to the needs of not only the fans, but also the club. The CMS enables the club to manage the content on the site, updating the results, fixtures and news, to ensure the fans are always in the loop.

Today’s fans want to feel connected to the club. With the latest news, stats, fixtures and results available at their fingertips. Keeping this at the forefront of our minds, we created a website that was visually and aesthetically engaging for the fans. We also integrated a live social media feed to engage with the fans on a more personal level and provide them with the most up to date news about the club.
