How we brought a melting reminder to COP26

In 2021, The Climate Coalition asked us to mobilise a movement to represent Wales at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow. The goal was ambitious: collect 10,000 pledges from people across Wales calling for urgent climate action.
We set to work. By the time COP26 arrived, over 13,000 voices had joined the call.
To carry those voices to the world stage, we created something unforgettable: a giant ice heart, built on the banks of the River Clyde in Glasgow. Constructed in just a few hours on a cold November day, the heart stood tall as the city buzzed with delegates, activists and campaigners from around the globe.
As the sun dipped and the chill set in, the heart glowed in the fading light, standing out against the darkening Glasgow skyline. The melt had already begun, a stark and simple reminder that time is running out to act on the climate crisis.
Over the days that followed, the ice heart became one of the most striking images of COP26. It was photographed, shared and featured by the BBC, The Guardian and ITV, carrying the voices of thousands from Wales into conversations that would shape the planet’s future.
This campaign proved what can happen when creativity meets collective purpose. Working with The Climate Coalition, we helped make sure Wales was seen, heard and impossible to ignore.
